Winter is a fantastic time to sell your home, and I'll share three reasons why.

Is winter a good time to sell your home? I receive this question quite a bit around this time every year, so today I’m answering it for everyone. Here are three great reasons to sell your house in the wintertime:

1. Lower inventory means less competition. We have less inventory during the winter. Though we’ve been talking about tight inventory most of the year, it’s always more strained in the winter.

“Selling during wintertime is an excellent idea.”

2. Many people want to relocate at the beginning of the year. Tons of job relocations happen after the first of the year, or people start a new job in a new place, and they need a place to live. It’s also the second-best time for children to change schools (the first being during their summer break).

3. Buyers are more serious in the winter. As I mentioned above, most people are thinking of family and the holidays this time of year. So buyers who are looking for a property in the winter months are very serious about purchasing.

So, my bottom line answer: Selling during wintertime is an excellent idea.
